Just Energy Launches UK Operations

The Just Energy Group Inc. has announced its entry into the commercial UK energy market through its subsidiary, Hudson Energy Supply UK Limited. "Once established, it is a logical next step to enter the residential market, and then broaden our offerings to other countries in Europe." said Deborah Merril, President of Hudson Energy. Just Energy's expansion to the UK this summer was first reported by Matters this spring.

Maine Opens Inquiry on Presentation of Costs of Certain Electric Policies

The Maine PUC has opened an inquiry (2012-321) to obtain information and comments regarding the development and presentation of information on the costs and effects of state policies on electricity rates. Recent legislation requires the PUC to develop the information and disclose it on its website. Among the costs the PUC has identified as requiring inclusion on the Commission website are, among several non-generation costs, renewable resource portfolio requirement compliance costs, and long-term contract above/below market costs.
