Syracuse, New York-based BlueRock Energy, Inc., has announced several growth milestones experienced in 2012, and stated an intention to expand beyond the New York market.

BlueRock Energy, Inc., serves more than 13,000 business and residential customers at all of the major New York electric and gas utilities (e.g. all territories except LIPA, Corning, St. Lawrence, etc.).

So far in 2012, BlueRock Energy has secured 2,700 new customers.

"The first half of the year has brought a number of opportunities our way, and we're pleased to report that the company is growing at a rapid pace," said Phil VanHorne, President and CEO of BlueRock Energy.

In the coming months, BlueRock Energy plans to expand its retail energy marketing to customers in the Northeast United States beyond New York State.

VanHorne specifically told Matters that BlueRock is in the process of applying for Pennsylvania electric and natural gas supplier licenses.

Among several new products recently launched by BlueRock are guaranteed savings plans, offering savings versus the utility rate.

During 2012, BlueRock has also expanded its offering of a fixed block product for businesses to all of its service areas. The product, which allows businesses to fix pricing for a portion of their usage while allowing some exposure to the market, had previously been tested in a subset of BlueRock's territories.

BlueRock Energy has launched an affinity partnership with SyracuseFirst, a non-profit network of locally owned, independent businesses and organizations dedicated to building a sustainable community by encouraging citizens to "Think Local First." Through the partnership, residents in Central New York can sign up with BlueRock Energy through SyracuseFirst.

BlueRock has been promoting its green offerings, which include electric plans with 25%, 50%, or 100% renewable energy, representing a mix of wind, biomass, and hydro, all sourced in New York. Since the beginning of the year, 100 customers have elected the 100% renewable product.

BlueRock was recently named one of the Top 500 companies in central New York.
