Dominion Retail Reports Higher Earnings, Customer Growth

Dominion Retail reported higher EBIT of $72 million for the second quarter ending June 30, 2012, versus $25 million in the year-ago quarter.
Dominion Retail's average electric customer count was 704,000 for the three months ended June 30, 2012, up slightly from 700,000 for the three months ended March 31, 2012, but down versus 778,000 for the year-ago three months ended June 30, 2011.
Dominion Retail's average natural gas customer count was 555,000 for the three months ended June 30, 2012, also up slightly from 552,000 for the three months ended March 31, 2012, but down marginally from the year-ago average of 565,000 for the three months ended June 30, 2011.
Dominion Retail's average Products and Services customer count was 875,000 for the three months ended June 30, 2012, up from 870,000 for the three months ended March 31, 2012, and 821,000 a year ago.
For the three months ended June 30, 2012, Dominion Retail's average total customer count was 2.134 million, versus an average of 2.122 million for the three months ended March 31, 2012, and 2.165 million a year ago.
Electric volumes for Dominion Retail were 3.073 million MWh for the quarter ending June 30, 2012, versus 3.208 million MWh a year ago.
Dominion Retail gas volumes were 16,060 mmcf for the quarter ending June 30, 2012, versus 17,601 mmcf a year ago.
Operating revenue for Dominion Retail for the quarter ended June 30, 2012 was $369 million.
