Flash: Just Energy Customer Growth Steady In Last Three Months

Just Energy reported consistent customer growth, in terms of long-term Residential Customer Equivalents (RCEs), during the three months ended June 30, 2012, it reported today in releasing earnings.

Just Energy reported 3.977 million RCEs as of June 30, 2012, up from 3.870 million RCEs as of April 1, 2012. RCEs as of June 30, 2011 had been 3.358 million.

The net growth of 107,000 RCEs since April 1, 2012 is in line with the net growth of 112,000 RCEs from December 31, 2011 to March 31, 2012.

U.S. electric RCEs as of June 30, 2012 were 2.189 million, versus 2.063 million as of April 1, 2012, and 1.452 million a year ago.

U.S. natural gas RCEs as of June 30, 2012 were 544,000, versus 551,000 as of April 1, 2012, and 567,000 a year ago.

Gross customer additions during the three months ended June 30, 2012 were 338,000 RCEs. Consumer (mass market) customer additions amounted to 162,000 RCEs during the three months ended June 30, 2012. Commercial additions were 176,000 RCEs.
