Duke Ohio Sees Rebound in Residential Shopping; AEP Ohio Leads Growth

According to the PUCO data, from March 31, 2012 to June 30, 2012, Duke Energy Ohio saw the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply increase by 38,000, from 168,000 to 206,000. This reverses a loss of 21,000 residential shoppers from December 31, 2011 to March 31, 2012 that had been shown in the previous PUCO migration reports.
The growth in the number of residential customers on competitive supply from March 31, 2012 to June 30, 2012 was at follows at the other utilities:
AEP Ohio: +80,000 Cleveland Electric Illuminating: +3,800 Dayton Power & Light: +23,000 Ohio Edison: +32,000 Toledo Edison: +1,600
The total number of residential customers on competitive supply as of June 30, 2012 was as follows, with the percent of residential accounts shopping listed in parenthesis:
AEP Ohio: 178,000 (14.0%) Cleveland Electric Illuminating: 498,000 (75.5%) Dayton Power & Light: 74,000 (16.4%) Duke Energy Ohio: 206,000 (33.7%) Ohio Edison: 625,000 (68.2%) Toledo Edison: 183,000 (67.4%)
