Growth in Residential Migration to Competitive Electric Supply Continues to Slow at BGE

The monthly growth in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply at Baltimore Gas & Electric has slowed for a third consecutive month, according to the July electric migration data posted by the Maryland PSC.

July 2012 vs. June 2012

At Baltimore Gas & Electric, from June 2012 to July 2012, the growth in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply was 1,300 accounts. This is down from the June growth of 3,300 accounts and the year-to-date monthly high in residential shopping growth of 7,500 accounts seen during April.

At Pepco, from June 2012 to July 2012, the growth in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply was about 2,100 accounts, versus the month-ago growth of 3,200 accounts.

At Delmarva, from June 2012 to July 2012, the growth in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply was 1,300, versus the month-ago growth of 1,200 accounts.

At Potomac Edison, from June 2012 to July 2012, the growth in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply was 470, versus the month-ago growth of 1,250 accounts.

As a percent of residential electric customers, Maryland migration to competitive supply was as follows for the month ending July 2012:

BGE: 25.3%

Delmarva: 13.7%

Pepco: 23.2%

Potomac Edison: 10.1%
