PSE&G Sees Large Spike in Monthly Growth of Residential Customers on Competitive Gas Supply

The growth in the number of residential natural gas customers on competitive supply at Public Service Electric and Gas was three times higher during July than in June, according to the latest stats from the BPU.

The BPU has posted natural gas migration data, including accounts and load migrated, as of July 2012 (click here).

From June 2012 to July 2012, PSE&G saw the number of residential gas customers on competitive supply increase by 10,200 accounts, up from the June growth of 3,600 accounts and May growth of 2,100 accounts.

From June 2012 to July 2012, South Jersey Gas saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply increase by 1,300 accounts, versus the June growth of 1,500 accounts.

From June 2012 to July 2012, New Jersey Natural Gas saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply increase by 800 accounts, versus the June growth of 600 accounts.

Elizabethtown Gas saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply decrease by 66 from June 2012 to July 2012, versus the month-ago growth of 200 accounts.

As a percent of residential accounts, current migration to competitive gas supply in New Jersey is:

Elizabethtown Gas: 1.57%

New Jersey Natural Gas: 8.27%

PSE&G: 7.21%

South Jersey Gas: 10.60%
