Staff of the Public Utility Commission of Texas have filed a proposed allocation of the costs of broadcasting PUCT meetings online to retail electric providers, and various other entities subject to Commission jurisdiction, consistent with PURA § 12.204.

PURA § 12.204 provides that the Commission is authorized to recover the costs of providing the broadcasting service by imposing an assessment on, among other entities, retail electric providers that serve more than 250,000 customers.

Retail electric providers that would be subject to an assessment, and the amount for each provider, under Staff's recommendation are below:

Ambit Texas $6,192
CPL Retail Energy LP $4,693
Direct Energy $6,821
Green Mountain Energy Company $5,631
Reliant Energy Retail Company LLC $27,663
Stream Energy $6,344
TXU Energy Retail Company LLC $32,656

This is the first year that either Ambit Energy or Green Mountain Energy have been subject to the assessment, indicating that they now serve more than 250,000 customers in ERCOT.
