The number of Michigan customer accounts on the utility waiting lists to receive electricity from competitive suppliers has topped 10,000, Energy Choice Now and the Customer Choice Coalition recently announced.
"These 10,000 customer accounts, including a smaller waiting list in the Indiana-Michigan Power territory, have signed contracts with competitive suppliers hoping for lower electricity prices and unique products to help manage their energy bills. But the 10% cap was hit within a year leaving most Michigan consumers behind. Meanwhile, those fortunate enough to make it under the cap have enjoyed over $350 million in electricity cost savings," the organizations said.
