TEPA Conference to Focus on Moving to National Platform

The Energy Professionals Association (TEPA) announced that its upcoming annual conference will focus on the last ten years of deregulation in the Texas energy market, as well as strategies to take the organization to a national platform.

The conference will be held Nov. 28-29 in Houston, Texas.

As first reported by Matters, the organization, formerly known as the Texas Energy Professionals Association, had announced plans to expand nationally earlier this year

The 2012 TEPA conference will feature presentations by recognized energy experts from the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), Electric Reliability Council of Texas (EROCT), as well as some of the state's leading Aggregators, Brokers and Consultants (ABCs) and Retail Electric Providers (REPs). A representative of KEMA, a global risk management company in the energy industry, will also provide a national perspective of the energy market.

"Not only will we discuss the Texas market during our conference, we'll also focus on how TEPA can make a positive impact on other deregulated markets across the country," said Paul Ward, president of TEPA.

"As an advocate for residential and business buyers, we believe the value that we're providing in Texas can be extended to consumers outside our state. Our goal is to make a difference at the national level, and this year's conference will give us time to discuss how we plan to do that," Ward said.
