PPL Sees Decline in Residential Shopping, PECO Continues Surge

PPL has returned to a weekly decline in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply while PECO continues to see a surge in weekly residential shopping growth, according to the October 10 migration data from the Pennsylvania PUC.

From September 30 to October 6, PPL saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply decline by 239 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 200 accounts.

From October 3 to October 9, PECO saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 3,500 accounts, nearly double the week-ago growth of 1,850 accounts. A new, higher residential Price to Compare took effect at PECO on October 1.

From October 4 to October 10, West Penn Power saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 1,600 accounts, up from the week-ago growth of 1,450 accounts.

From October 4 to October 10, Penelec saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 800 accounts, which was even with the week-ago growth.

From October 4 to October 10, Met-Ed saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 176 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 300 accounts.

From October 4 to October 10, Penn Power saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply increase by only 26 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 48 accounts.

From September 30 to October 6, Duquesne Light saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply grow by 822 accounts, versus the week-ago growth of 553 accounts.
