ERCOT has completed its review of several units at S.R. Bertron which had submitted a notification of suspension of operations and found that the units are not required to support ERCOT system reliability.
On October 3, 2012, NRG Texas Power LLC submitted a Notice of Suspension of Operations (NSO) for the following Generation Resources with a proposed effective date of January 1, 2013:
• S.R. Bertron Unit 1 – SRB_SRB_G1
• S.R. Bertron Unit 2 – SRB_SRB_G2
• S.R. Bertron GT-2 – SRB_SRB_SRBGT_2
In an initial, and in this circumstance final, determination issued yesterday, ERCOT has reported that these Resources are not required to support ERCOT System reliability (for voltage support, stability or management of localized transmission constraints under first contingency criteria).
The Resources may be mothballed according to the schedule in the NSO.
