ERCOT Issues RMR Determination for Monticello Units

ERCOT has completed its review of Luminant Generation Company LLC Monticello Units 1 & 2 which had submitted a notification of suspension of operations and found that the units are not required to support ERCOT system reliability.
On August 31, 2012, ERCOT received Notification of Suspension of Operations (NSO) from Luminant Generation Company LLC for the following Generation Resources with a proposed effective date of December 1, 2012, for a period not less than six months and not greater than 7 months:
• Luminant Generation Company LLC – MNSES_UNIT1
• Luminant Generation Company LLC – MNSES_UNIT2
ERCOT has completed its review and is issuing its final determination that these Resources are not required to support ERCOT System reliability (for voltage support, stability or management of localized transmission constraints under first contingency criteria).
The Resources may be mothballed according to the schedule in the NSO.
