Maine Mass Market Standard Offer Rates to Decline

The Maine PUC has approved new mass market Standard Offer rates at Central Maine Power and Bangor Hydro-Electric for the 12-month period beginning March 1, 2013.

The PUC said that the default Standard Offer rate for residential and small commercial customers at CMP is 6.8¢/kWh for the 12-month period beginning March 1, 2013 (the more exact rate to three decimals was not immediately published on the PUC Standard Offer chart).

The default Standard Offer rate for residential and small commercial customers at BHE is 6.699¢/kWh for the 12-month period beginning March 1, 2013.

The new prices will represent reductions in the cost of standard offer service of 8.2% for CMP customers and 6.2% for BHE customers, the PUC said.

Additionally, the PUC approved rates under a new Time of Use Standard Offer option for small customers at CMP. Such rates, with have Peak and Off-peak components which vary by month, can be found here on the PUC site
