PSE&G Sees Recovery in Rate of Residential Migration to Competitive Supply

Public Service Electric and Gas saw a recovery in the rate of growth of the number of residential natural gas customers on competitive supply during September, according to the latest stats from the BPU.

The BPU has posted natural gas migration data, including accounts and load migrated, as of September 2012 (click here).

From August 2012 to September 2012, PSE&G saw the number of residential gas customers on competitive supply increase by 3,800 accounts, up sharply from the August growth of less than 800 accounts and in line with growth seen earlier during the year.

From August 2012 to September 2012, New Jersey Natural Gas saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply increase by 2,000 accounts, up from the August growth of 1,300 accounts.

From August 2012 to September 2012, South Jersey Gas saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply increase by 735 accounts, down from the August growth of 1,300 accounts.

Elizabethtown Gas saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply increase by 62 from August 2012 to September 2012, versus the month-ago decrease of 30 accounts.

As a percent of residential accounts, current migration to competitive gas supply in New Jersey is:

Elizabethtown Gas: 1.58%

New Jersey Natural Gas: 8.97%

PSE&G: 7.51%

South Jersey Gas: 11.20%
