The New York PSC has posted updated migration statistics for the retail natural gas market.

New statistics are now available from April 2012 and April 2011. The most recent stats previously available were from March 2011.

Given the age of the most recent stats, and that there is no immediately prior month available (e.g. no March 2012 stats), Matters will not provide a detailed comparison of migration growth.

Matters will note, however, that in every territory except for Corning and St. Lawrence Gas, the percent of residential customers on competitive supply increased from March 2011 to April 2012.

Residential migration to competitive gas supply, as a percent of accounts, was as follows for April 2012:

Central Hudson: 15.6%
Consolidated Edison: 18.7%
Corning: 17.4%
KeySpan Long Island: 10.7%
KeySpan New York: 20.0%
National Fuel Gas Distribution: 19.9%
NYSEG: 23.5%
Niagara Mohawk: 23.7%
Orange & Rockland: 45.5%
Rochester Gas & Electric: 23.6%
St. Lawrence Gas: 0.0%
