Chicago Aggregation Locks-in Electric Rate
The City of Chicago's opt-out aggregation, supplied by Integrys Energy Services, has locked in a rate of 5.42 cents per kWh through May 2014.
NRG Energy, GenOn Merger Closes, to Serve as "Foundation" for Retail Expansion
NRG Energy, Inc. and GenOn Energy, Inc. have completed their previously reported merger. With the merger, NRG now has about 47,000 MW of capacity. As previously reported, executives said that the merger will serve as the "foundation" for the further expansion of NRG's retail businesses, through replication of the integrated wholesale-retail business model used in ERCOT.
