Vocelli Pizza Holding Co. to Enter Retail Energy Supply Business

Start-up Shimshek Energy, LLC has applied for a Pennsylvania electric supplier license to serve all customer classes in all service areas.
The leadership of Shimshek Energy, including Chairman & CEO Varol Ablak, are principals at Ablak Holdings, a Pittsburgh-based holding company that specializes in the operation and growth of a variety of businesses.
Most notably, Ablak Holdings owns Vocelli Pizza, which has grown to over 100 franchised units in six states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and West Virginia.
Vocelli Pizza has approximately 50 locations in Pennsylvania.
Other Ablak Holdings businesses include a call center operation and e-commerce company (Selenco), movie production company, and real estate holdings.
The Pennsylvania application states that Varol Ablak has been a "consultant" for Ignite (Stream Energy) for the last two years.
