Detroit Edison and Consumers Energy have filed their initial electric choice caps for 2013.
The initial cap is based on 11 months of weather-adjusted retail sales (January through November 2012) and one month of estimated weather-adjusted retail sales, for December 2012. A final 2013 cap will be developed and filed by February 1, 2013 once actual sales data from December 2012 is available.
The 2013 initial cap at each utility exceeds the current level of choice participation, and therefore no additional choice allotments are available.
Specifically, at Detroit Edison, the initial choice cap for 2013 is 4,683,914 MWh.
Current Detroit Edison choice participation is 5,319,208 MWh.
There is currently 4,383,692 MWh, representing 4,605 enrollments, in Detroit Edison's choice queue.
At Consumers Energy, the initial choice cap for 2013 is 3,739,850 MWh.
Current Consumers Energy choice participation is 3,913,906 MWh.
There is currently 5,049,620 MWh, representing 5,865 enrollments, in Consumers Energy's choice queue.
