The Public Utility Commission of Texas has approved a reduction in certain discretionary service charges applicable to retail electric providers at Oncor.

Services with reduced discretionary service charges under the order include Disconnect for Non-Pay, Reconnect After DNP, Out-of-Cycle Meter Read for the Purpose of a Self-Selected Switch, and others

For example, a standard Disconnect for Non-Pay at the meter will now be $2.30, instead of $2.70.

A Reconnect After DNP, at the meter, will now be $2.70 instead of $3.10.

The amount for each discretionary service charge can be found starting on page 3 of Oncor's filing (click here)

The new charges will take effect 45 days after the PUCT's approval, which was issued on January 4.

As previously reported, under a stipulation among parties, certain charges that were originally proposed to be increased (such as Standard Move-Ins) are now being maintained at the current level.

The reduced charges are the result of Oncor's annual filing to reflect lower costs of providing the services due to the deployment of advanced meters
