Residential SOS rates at Potomac Edison and Type II SOS rates at all Maryland investor-owned utilities will decrease under the recently completed January procurement.
The January RFP procured residential supplies at Potomac Edison only, completing PE's residential portfolio for the period June 2013 to May 2014, and also procured Type II supplies for the three-month period beginning March 1, 2013 at Baltimore Gas & Electric, Delmarva, Pepco, and Potomac Edison.
Although rates resulting from the procurement have not yet been filed, a PSC Staff report on the procurement indicates that residential SOS rates at Potomac Edison for the period June 2013 to May 2014 will be about 4% lower than SOS rates for the period June 2012 to May 2013.
Type II SOS rates for the three-month period beginning March 1, 2013 are to decrease by the following amounts at each utility, versus the 2012/13 winter Type II SOS rates.
BGE: 11% to 12%, depending on rate class
Delmarva: 10%
Pepco: 12%
Potomac Edison: 16%
