Hess Commences Tolling Agreement in ISO New England
Hess Corporation, on January 1, 2013, commenced service under a tolling agreement between Hess and Berkshire Power Company, LLC, Hess said in a FERC filing. Pursuant to the Berkshire Agreement, Hess has the exclusive right to purchase and dispatch electric energy from Berkshire's 272 MW facility in Agawam, Massachusetts in the ISO New England Inc. balancing authority area and is responsible for scheduling sales of electric energy therefrom. According to the letter of concurrence executed by the parties, Hess assumes control of the facility for market-based rate purposes. Apart from the Berkshire facility, the Hess companies do not own or control other resources in ISO-NE.
Iacavazzi Joins APPI Energy
Cosmo Iacavazzi, Jr., has joined Affiliated Power Purchasers International, LLC (APPI Energy) as an Energy Consultant. Based in Pennington, NJ, Mr. Iacavazzi will develop energy client relationships and provide expert consulting services to electricity and natural gas clients in diverse industries. Mr. Iacavazzi previously worked with two competitive energy suppliers with activities in many deregulated markets across the U.S.
Direct Energy Launches Electric Avenue Blog
Direct Energy has launched a new blog, called Electric Avenue, to provide business customers access to the latest information impacting power and natural gas markets, "in a way that is entertaining and insightful." Authors of the blog include Direct Energy analysts Lars Cleath, Mike Krygowski, Joe Polka and Hans Rottman.
