United Energy Suppliers, LLC Purchases Controlling Interest of N.Y. ESCO; Former Keyspan Exec Named Chairman

United Energy Suppliers, LLC has purchased a majority interest in JJT Energy, a retail energy services company providing natural gas on Long Island and New York City to the residential, commercial and industrial markets.

This investor group, led by I.G. Cooper and R. B. Catell, "will support JJT's growth into electricity and greatly expand our reach in the State of New York," the company said.

"Further, it is JJT's plan to expand into a number of additional deregulated states," the company said.

Robert B. Catell, former Chairman and CEO of KeySpan and Chairman of National Grid US, will be serving as Chairman of the Board of JJT Energy, and Irwin G. Cooper, Founder, President and CEO of Cooper Communications Group (CCG) of Garden City, NY, will assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of JJT Energy.

Cooper Communications Group provides Tier-1 telecommunications support services nationally, including installation and various service offerings. As part of the growth plan for JJT Energy, the following members will be assuming additional roles and responsibilities:

• Gregory P. Canova, Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer – Since 1989, Gregory Canova has had the overall responsibility for all financial, MIS and administrative functions of Cooper Communications Group.

• Joseph Graham, Marketing and Business Development Manager - Joe Graham, along with his brother Tom, was a founder of JJT Energy. He will be responsible for the development and implementation of the company's marketing and advertising programs.

• Thomas Graham, Operations Manager – Tom Graham will manage the day-to-day gas activities as well as the daily operational matters of the firm.

• Thomas J. Grech, Sales Manager – Tom Grech will manage the overall sales and sales management function at JJT Energy.

JJT Energy was launched in 2009.
