The NEMA/Boston zone diverged to a higher capacity price than the rest of ISO New England in the Forward Capacity Auction for the 2016/17 delivery year.

The capacity payment rate for existing capacity in the NEMA/Boston zone, which was administratively determined due to "insufficient competition," was $6.661/kW-month.

The rest of the RTO cleared at the floor of $3.15/kW-month. There was excess capacity at the floor price, meaning actual payments to generators will be slightly less than the floor, reflecting proration.
