Ameren: Merchant Exit Could Include Sale or Restructuring

Ameren executives said yesterday during an earnings call that its exit from the merchant generation business could take the form of either a sale or restructuring, and management is currently evaluating various exit strategies.
As noted by Matters yesterday, Ameren has indicated that the merchant generation exit will include an exit from its competitive retail energy supply business as well.
The timing and method of the merchant generation exit remains uncertain, executives said.
