Maryland Utility Files to Decrease POR Discount for Most Customer Classes

Potomac Edison has filed with the Maryland PSC revisions to its Purchase of Receivables discount rates to be effective June 1, 2013.

The revised discount rates are:

Residential     0.0772%
Type I          0.0000%
Type II         0.1825%
Hourly          0.0000%

The discount rate calculations for Type I and hourly customers actually results in a negative discount rate, but Potomac Edison proposes to set these rates at zero consistent with PSC precedent.

For comparison, the current discount rates are:

Residential     0.759%
Type I          0.776%
Type II         0.000%
Hourly          0.038%
