XOOM Energy LLC has officially launched service in several new territories.
Among these is the Columbia Gas territory in Kentucky. At Columbia Gas in Kentucky, XOOM Energy is offering residential customers a variable rate, with the initial two months fixed at $4.99/Mcf.
Additional markets where XOOM Energy has now officially launched service include Consolidated Edison, Niagara Mohawk, Rochester Gas & Electric, NYSEG (electric), KeySpan New York, KeySpan Long Island, PPL, PECO, West Penn Power, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, and Baltimore Gas & Electric. These are all markets where XOOM Energy acquired customers from Planet Energy (see prior story for details). Service includes both gas and electricity at dual fuel utilities, unless otherwise noted.
These new markets increase XOOM Energy's service area to include 50 markets.
"Our goal is to offer energy service to customers in all deregulated markets in the U.S. Our recent expansion into New York, Kentucky, Maryland and Pennsylvania puts XOOM closer to achieving our goal," said Tom Ulry, XOOM Energy CEO.
Additionally, XOOM Energy, originally based in Charlotte, has moved its corporate headquarters to a larger facility in Huntersville, NC.
"Our decision to relocate to a larger facility is based on our tremendous growth during our first two years of operation," said Ulry. "The new building can more than accommodate our current employee base, allows for future growth and will enable us to develop a truly world-class corporate headquarters."
XOOM Energy will house all of its corporate functional teams in the building, including Finance, Operations, Energy Supply and Pricing, Marketing, Sales, and Legal.
"Our new headquarters sets the stage for XOOM Energy's next leap forward," said Ulry. "Our new building will offer the flexibility we need as we continue our aggressive growth into energy retail markets across the country."
