JCP&L Ends Slide in Residential Shopping, New Jersey Aggregate Migration Growth Still Weak

Jersey Central Power & Light saw a return to growth in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply during January, though statewide migration growth was still weak, according to the latest stats on the BGS auction site.

From the end of December to the end of January, Jersey Central Power & Light saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply increase by nearly 2,400 accounts. This compares to the loss of 263 residential shoppers witnessed during December.
From the end of December to the end of January, Public Service Electric & Gas saw the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply increase by 1,600, up slightly versus the December growth of 1,000 accounts, but still well off the November monthly growth of 7,700 accounts.
Atlantic City Electric saw residential migration to competitive supply grow by 830 accounts during January, down from growth of 600 accounts during December.
Rockland Electric saw residential migration growth of 200 accounts during January, versus growth of 333 accounts in December.
As a percent of residential accounts, migration to competitive electric supply in New Jersey as of January 31 was:
Atlantic City Electric: 18.89%
Jersey Central Power & Light: 18.56%
Public Service Electric & Gas: 13.55%
Rockland Electric: 10.95%
