Marathon Energy Corporation has expanded its electricity supply service offerings to all Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) customers.
Marathon's LIPA launch is the most recent expansion in the company's rapid growth and development, which includes nine markets in two states in just 17 months.
"Marathon's strong balance sheet, sterling reputation and razor-sharp customer focus made for an easy decision for LIPA's board approval to allow Marathon into the tightly controlled Long Island market. Third party suppliers are extremely rare in LIPA territory - in fact, you can count them on one hand," Jeff Grygier, Chief Financial Officer of Marathon, said in a news release.
The new market rollout for LIPA supplements Marathon's existing markets of National Grid New York, National Grid Long Island, Consolidated Edison, and Orange & Rockland Utilities in New York and PSE&G, JCP&L, Rockland Electric, Elizabethtown Gas, and New Jersey Natural Gas in New Jersey.
