Niagara Mohawk has issued a notice of an ESCO Pricing Tools and Consumer Communications Collaborative to commence discussions concerning ESCO versus default service cost comparisons required under a recently adopted rate case joint proposal.
See prior story for cost comparisons required by the New York PSC
The Collaborative will explore enhancement of the provision of historical utility billing information for residential energy services company (ESCO) customers.
The Collaborative will consider the following:
1) Development and implementation of an online historical bill comparison tool to present what a customer paid to an ESCO for commodity supply service and what NiMo would have charged for the equivalent fully bundled service; and,
2) Proposals on presentation of similar comparisons on customer bills and outreach venues to payment troubled customers.
The Collaborative discussions will commence April 10.
The Collaborative is required to submit a report to the PSC within 90 days of the issuance of the Commission's March 15, 2013 order.
