On March 29, Commonwealth Edison filed updated Purchased Electricity Charges (Rider PE) for the 12-month period beginning June 1, 2013.
The new retail generation rates confirm a significant decline in prices, which had been previously expected due to the roll-off of above-market contracts.
Rider PE makes up the largest component of the bypassable generation rate, which also includes transmission and a reconciliation factor. ComEd said that during May it will file new transmission rates to take effect in June 2013. Transmission costs are expected to increase as a result of transmission investments, ComEd said.
The new Purchased Electricity Charges (PECs) for the period June 2013 to September 2013 are as follows (¢/kWh):
Residential Non-Electric Space Heating 4.597 Residential Electric Space Heating 4.597 Watt-hour Non-Electric Space Heating 4.973 Demand Non-Electric Space Heating 4.959 Nonresidential Electric Space Heating 4.359 Dusk to Dawn Lighting 1.847 General Lighting 4.384
