City Selects Verde Energy for Opt-Out Aggregation
The City of Evanston, Illinois selected Verde Energy USA as the city's municipal electric aggregation supplier, effective August 2013. Under the terms of the agreement with Verde, residents will receive a 100% renewable fixed rate of $0.05192/kWh through August 2014. Verde serves over 70,000 customers in 14 municipalities through aggregation programs. As part of its agreement with Evanston, Verde Energy will also install an Ice Bear distributed energy storage system in one of Evanston's municipal buildings.
Tradition Energy Opens Pennsylvania Office, Names New VP
Tradition Energy announced that Lisa Illman has joined the firm as Vice President to lead the company's expansion in the Pennsylvania region, including Delaware, Maryland, southern New Jersey, and Washington D.C. Tradition will be opening an office in Philadelphia in order to provide full-service energy management and procurement services to commercial and industrial companies and governmental entities in the region. Before joining Tradition, Illman held business development management positions with Direct Energy and Hess Corporation.
PPL EnergyPlus Serving Department of Defense Facilities
PPL EnergyPlus has begun serving U.S. Department of Defense facilities in Tobyhanna, Chambersburg, and Philadelphia, Pa. as part of a two-year natural gas supply contract. PPL EnergyPlus will supply all the natural gas required to serve the U.S. Army's Tobyhanna and Letterkenny Army Depots, as well as the U.S. Navy's Naval Support Activity Philadelphia facility.
