Shipley Energy has begun offering retail electricity supply to residential customers.
Specifically, Shipley Energy now offers residential electric supply at PPL, offering residential customers a guaranteed savings product under which Shipley Energy will calculate, after 12 months, the total amount paid versus what the customer would have paid if receiving supply from PPL. If the customer did not pay less with Shipley Energy, Shipley will send the customer $100.
The guaranteed savings product includes a variable rate currently priced at 6.99¢/kWh.
Shipley Energy's website indicates that it will soon offer electricity at Met-Ed as well.
A natural gas and heating oil supplier, Shipley Energy previously brokered electric supply but is now acting as a retail supplier. Its expansion to load serving electric supply had been first reported by Matters.
