Reliant has released pricing for its newly launched Free Weekends plan in Texas, which will provide the customer with a Nest Learning Thermostat at no additional charge.
The plan was reported earlier this week by Matters, but pricing was not available at that time.
The Free Weekends plan, categorized as an index plan, features a 0¢/kWh energy charge from 8:00 PM Friday to 12:00 AM Monday. TDU charges still apply during this period.
In the Oncor service area, Reliant is offering a Free Weekends plan with a 12-month term featuring an average all-in rate of 12.2¢/kWh (at 1,000 kWh usage). The energy charge for non-weekend times is 8.7¢/kWh, which is fixed for the contract term, and the TDU charge is 2.8876¢/kWh, applicable for all hours. A $6.48 per month TDU charge also applies.
In the CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric service area, Reliant is offering a Free Weekends plan with a 12-month term featuring an average all-in rate of 11.6¢/kWh (at 1,000 kWh usage). The energy charge for non-weekend times is 10.5¢/kWh, which is fixed for the contract term, and the TDU charge is 3.4862¢/kWh, applicable for all hours. A $9.45 per month TDU charge also applies.
The average price calculations are based on a consumption profile over 12 months that has 32% of consumption on weekends as defined in the product.
The products include early termination fees of $150.
The products are only available to customers with provisioned smart meters, and are available at additional ERCOT service areas contingent on the customer having a provisioned smart meter.
Reliant had indicated in its news release earlier this week that 24-month Free Weekend plans would also be offered.
