Orion Power Holdings Acquires Book from Retail Energy Broker

Orion Power Holdings announced it has completed the acquisition of all accounts and clients related to Global Energy Solutions II, LLC from the Florida corporation also known as GES II.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"The acquisition gives Orion an extensive increase in current energy contracts and expands their broad b2b client base," Orion said in a news release.

Global Energy Solutions II, LLC, based in Florida, provides electric brokerage for retail business customers in Ohio, Illinois and other deregulated electricity markets. The company also provided energy solutions, including gas and green energy nationwide. GESII managed approximately 75 GWh annually, Orion said in a news release.

"Adding the extensive contract base of GESII to our already growing list of clients will give us a strong platform on which to grow our retail energy business and hedge the output of our soon-to-be expanding unregulated markets team," said David Katlic, Orion Managing Partner. "The retail customer acquisition of GESII, will enhance our already successful retail business and diversify the offerings available as we expand our customer base," said Eric Snyder, Orion Power Holdings Managing Member.
