Utility Choice Savings Receives License in New State

The Maine PUC granted Utility Choice Savings, LLC an electric aggregator/broker license to serve residential and non-residential customers at Central Maine Power, Bangor Hydro-Electric and Maine Public Service. Although the Commission has already licensed entities that have "choice" in their name that are currently providing service to residential customers, "we find that UCS's name is sufficiently different from the name of the already licensed entity that UCS's participation in the Maine market is not likely to cause significant and harmful consumer confusion," the PUC said. See prior story for previous PUC policy statement on use of same term in multiple supplier/broker names
