The New York PSC has posted electric shopping migration data as of December 2012.

The most recent previously published stats had been from May 2012. Stats for months in between May 2012 and December 2012 were not available as of press time.

From May 2012 to December 2012, the growth (loss) in the number of New York residential electric accounts on competitive supply was as follows:

Central Hudson 5,998
Consolidated Edison 45,395
Niagara Mohawk 15,645
NYSEG 1,039
Orange & Rockland 2,794
Rochester Gas & Electric 1,412

Due to the time between stats, meaningful trends on growth cannot be extrapolated, but Matters will note that some territories (NiMo, RGE) had seen declining residential shopping in early 2012, and that this trend did not continue, at least in the aggregate period of May 2012 to December 2012.

As a percent of residential accounts, migration to competitive supply in December 2012 was as follows:

Central Hudson 12.9%
Consolidated Edison 25.7%
Niagara Mohawk 18.9%
NYSEG 24.7%
Orange & Rockland 39.0%
Rochester Gas & Electric 25.6%
