Duke Energy Names New CEO
Duke Energy announced that Lynn Good has been elected as its next president and chief executive officer, succeeding Jim Rogers, who will continue to serve as chairman of the board until his retirement on Dec. 31, 2013. Good will also serve as a director on the Duke Energy board. She will assume her new role on July 1. Good has served as Duke Energy's executive vice president and chief financial officer since July 2009. Prior to her tenure as Duke Energy's CFO, Good served as group executive and president of Duke Energy's Commercial Businesses organization. In this role, she was principally responsible for the Midwest non-regulated generation, Duke Energy International, Duke Energy Renewables, corporate development, and merger and acquisition activities. Duke Energy is the ultimate parent of Duke Energy Retail Sales.
Demand Response Providers File Complaint Over Compensation in NYISO
Several curtailment service providers have filed a complaint at FERC against the New York ISO (EL13-74), in which they are requesting that FERC find that demand response facilitated by behind-the-meter generation (BTMG) should be eligible for full LMP compensation. NYISO excluded demand response facilitated by BTMG from full LMP compensation in a prior compliance filing which was adopted by FERC.
