Constellation Selected by 20 Illinois Communities to Supply Fixed-Price Electricity

Constellation NewEnergy, Inc. announced that it has been selected to supply an estimated 9,000 eligible residents and small commercial customers in 20 Illinois communities with fixed-cost electricity following a competitive bidding process under the communities' electricity choice aggregation programs.

Illinois communities participating in the aggregation program include: Assumption, Bluffs, Camp Point, Cass County, Chapin, Franklin, Hamilton, Liberty, Loraine, Manchester, Morgan County, Murrayville, Naples, Riverside Township, Scott County, Sidney, Toledo, Valier, Winchester and Woodson. The communities are in the Ameren territory.

By receiving electricity supply from Constellation, Illinois residents have the option to match up to 100 percent of their electricity use with renewable energy through the purchase renewable energy certificates.

Constellation's 18-month term rate is 4.203 cents per kWh and 4.300 cents per kWh with the purchase of renewable energy certificates.

Electric service under the newly negotiated rates is scheduled to begin as early as September 2013.

Customers who do not opt-out can leave the program at any time within the 18-month term without penalty.
