Two Pennsylvania Utilities Continue to Lose Residential Shoppers

Two Pennsylvania electric distribution utilities continued to see a decrease in the number of residential customers on competitive supply, according to the latest stats from the Pennsylvania PUC.

Statewide, from about July 24 to July 31 (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw residential shopping increase by an aggregate of 1,800 accounts, up from the week-ago growth of 1,300 accounts

Two utilities still recorded a decrease in residential shopping from about July 24 to July 31: Duquesne Light and PECO.

Specifically, from about July 24 to July 31 (report date varies slightly by utility), the weekly growth (loss) in residential electric customers on competitive supply at each EDC was:

Duquesne Light         (348)
Met-Ed                  549
PECO                   (375)
Penelec                 639
Penn Power               87
PPL                     953
West Penn Power         287
