Start-up Retail Supplier Bargain Energy Counts Constellation Vets Among Management, Shares Exec With Spark Energy

Bargain Energy, LLC, a start-up retail supplier, is preparing to launch service.

Bargain Energy has applied for a Pennsylvania electric supplier license to serve residential customers, and all sizes of commercial customers, at PPL and PECO.

Bargain Energy's response to a question about its affiliates was filed confidentially, but the unredacted portion makes a reference to Spark Energy, LP.

Bargain Energy, LLC's sole member is Retailco, LLC. According to Texas Secretary of State records, W. Keith Maxwell III is a member and CEO of Retailco, LLC. Maxwell is also CEO and founder of Spark Energy.

Maxwell is also listed as CEO of Bargain Energy on the Pennsylvania application.

Bargain Energy states in its application that it will have a full requirements supply agreement with Spark Energy L.P.

Derrick Parkhill serves as President of Bargain Energy. Parkhill was previously Vice President of ERCOT Portfolio Management for Constellation Energy, and previously held positions at Entergy Solutions and Amerex Bandwidth.

Patrick Meyers serves as Executive Vice President of Bargain Energy. Meyers was previously Director of Sales at Constellation Energy and previously held positions at Tara Energy and Enron.

A trademark application from Bargain Energy indicates that the company will be engaged in natural gas sales in addition to electricity sales.
