PPL, State Reverse Week-ago Decline in Residential Shopping (Lifted by Referral Programs?)

PPL, and the state of Pennsylvania in aggregate, reversed a week-ago decline in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply, perhaps lifted by the start of Standard Offer Customer Referral Programs at several electric distribution companies.
As noted in our related story today (click here), the FirstEnergy EDCs have reported data from their Standard Offer Customer Referral Programs which started August 1. PPL's Standard Offer Customer Referral Program was also due to start on August 1.
From August 2 to August 9, PPL saw the number of residential customers on competitive supply increase by 671, versus a week-ago decline in residential shopping of 118 accounts. While Standard Offer enrollments would have been very unlikely to have been completed by August 9, PPL's migration stats have historically included pending switches in addition to completed enrollments (it is unclear if this is still the case).
Statewide, from about August 8 to August 14 (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw residential electric shopping increase by an aggregate of 600 accounts, versus a week-ago decline of 1,250, per the data on the PUC migration chart.
Both Duquesne Light and PECO continue to see a weekly decline in the number of residential customers on competitive supply.
Specifically, from about August 8 to August 14 (report date varies slightly by utility), the weekly growth (loss) in residential electric customers on competitive supply at each EDC was:
Duquesne Light (656) Met-Ed 509 PECO (718) Penelec 286 Penn Power 249 PPL 671 West Penn Power 236
