Michigan Approves Reservation Charge Applicable to Choice Customers at Two Utilities

The Michigan PSC has set reservation charges applicable to gas customer choice customers at Michigan Gas Utilities Corporation and SEMCO Energy Gas Company.

At Michigan Gas Utilities Corporation, the PSC approved a reservation charge of $0.6448 per Mcf, which is charged to choice customers, and also makes up a component of the gas cost recovery (GCR) factor applicable to non-choice customers.

At Michigan Gas Utilities Corporation, the PSC adopted a base GCR factor of $4.7260 per Mcf, comprised of a $4.0812 per Mcf commodity charge to GCR customers and the reservation charge. The GCR is for the 12-month period ending March 31, 2014.

At SEMCO Energy Gas Company, the PSC adopted a Balancing and Demand Charge of $0.7617 per Dth, which is charged to choice customers, and also makes up a component of the gas cost recovery (GCR) factor applicable to non-choice customers.

At SEMCO Energy Gas Company, the PSC adopted a base GCR factor of $4.7299 per dekatherm, which reflects a gas commodity charge of $3.9682 per Dth and the Balancing and Demand Charge. The GCR is for the 12-month period ending March 31, 2014.
