Retail Supplier AEP Energy Launches Green Affinity Program in Ohio

Retail supplier AEP Energy has begun offering 100% renewable products to residential electric customers in Ohio that include an affinity donation to Green Energy Ohio.

Specifically, AEP Energy's ECO-Advantage electric plans feature a fixed rate through May 31, 2014 and include 100% wind power. AEP Energy will make a $30 donation to Green Energy Ohio for each enrollment on the plan.

According to its website, Green Energy Ohio is, "a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting environmentally and economically sustainable energy policies and practices in Ohio."

AEP Energy's ECO-Advantage plan is offered in all service areas: Ohio Power, Duke Energy Ohio, Dayton Power & Light, Cleveland Electric Illuminating, Toledo Edison, and Ohio Edison.

AEP Energy's 100% wind ECO-Advantage plan offers a fixed rate through May 31, 2014 in each service area as follows:

Ohio Power (AEP Ohio):      6.79¢ per kWh
Dayton Power & Light:       6.59¢ per kWh
Duke Energy Ohio:           5.60¢ per kWh
FirstEnergy EDCs (all):     5.93¢ per kWh

An early termination fee of $10 per month remaining on the contract applies
