eBay Receives Market-Based Rate Authority

eBay Inc. has received Market-Based Rate authority from FERC. The impetus of the petition, which was first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, is eBay's development of a 6 MW fuel cell generation facility in Utah, with the primary purpose of providing power to an eBay data center at that site. eBay was not explicit, however, in stating that its MBR activity would be limited to selling excess power from the fuel cell.

The Alliance Risk Group Named to NEM Executive Committee

The National Energy Marketers Association announced that The Alliance Risk Group has been elected to NEM's Executive Committee. Alliance will be represented by John Flory, Executive Managing Director; Michael Prokop, Managing Director, Markets and Regulatory Affairs; Phil Gootee, Managing Director, Power Markets; and Kyle Storie, Associate.
