New Canadian Retail Supplier to Expand to U.S., with Wealth of Retail Market Veterans

A Canadian retail energy supplier is expanding its operations to the United States.

Specifically, Sunwave Gas & Power Connecticut Inc. applied for a Connecticut electric supplier license to serve all customer classes.

Sunwave Gas & Power is active in the Ontario retail electric and natural gas markets. Sunwave also operates (but does not own) another retail supplier, Canadian RiteRate Energy Inc. under a management services agreement

Sunwave Gas & Power is an indirect subsidiary of ONEnergy, Inc., which was formerly known as Look Communications Inc. ONEnergy recently acquired Sunwave Gas & Power from OZZ Clean Energy, in July 2013.

Sunwave's Connecticut application lists affiliates as including Sunwave Gas & Power Massachusetts Inc., Sunwave Gas & Power Illinois Inc., and Sunwave Gas & Power New York Inc., indicating an intent to expand to additional U.S. states.

Mark Lewis serves as CEO of Sunwave parent ONEnergy Inc. Prior to the creation of ONEnergy in July 2013, Lewis was the President and CEO of OZZ Clean Energy Inc., the former parent of Sunwave Gas & Power Inc. Previously, Lewis was a Partner and Managing Director with Mission Point Capital Partners, a Connecticut-based private investment firm investing in the transition to a lower carbon economy. Lewis spent a number of years with GE in roles in Europe and North America, including leading the global business development activities of GE's largest industrial business, GE Energy. Lewis began his career with Credit Suisse in their energy and M&A advisory businesses.

Robert Weir serves as Chief Operating Officer of ONEnergy Inc. and President of Sunwave Gas & Power Inc. Weir previously led the launch of Constellation NewEnergy's retail electric business in Ontario and subsequently moved on to manage Constellation NewEnergy's commodity retail businesses in New York and New Jersey. Weir was most recently President of Zoom Energy, a private energy advisory and consulting company.

C. Fraser Elliott serves as Chief Financial Officer of ONEnergy Inc. Previously, Elliott was a director and officer of Tangarine Payment Solutions Corp., an electronic financial payment solutions provider to small and medium sized retail businesses across Canada.

Ramon de Ocampo serves as Vice President of Finance for ONEnergy Inc. Previously, de Ocampo was a member of the founding senior management team that launched Wind Mobile, Canada's fourth largest wireless telecom provider.

Ken Hatzinikolaou serves as Director of Portfolio and Risk Management for Sunwave Gas & Power Inc. Hatzinikolaou has previously held management roles at Just Energy and Gas South.

Andrew Spurvey serves as Vice President of Sales for Sunwave Gas & Power Inc. Spurvey previously held positions at Direct Energy Marketing Ltd.

Tim Nerbas serves as a business development consultant for ONEnergy Inc. Nerbas was the founding Partner and President & CEO of Canadian Rite Rate Energy Corporation, an online natural gas and electricity retailer. Prior to 2004, Nerbas was Director of Commodity Services at Enbridge Inc.

Imran Noorani serves as Director of Regulatory Affairs for Sunwave Gas & Power Inc. Noorani was previously a member of the Regulatory Policy group of the Ontario Energy Board.
