AEP Ohio Files to Significantly Increase Smart Meter Installations, But Not Full Deployment

AEP Ohio has sought approval from PUCO for installation of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) to approximately 900,000 additional customers. This number does not represent full deployment. AEP Ohio has approximately 1.5 million meters installed throughout its service territory and, of this total, AEP Ohio has thus far converted approximately 132,000 meters to AMI.
