Nearly a year since it last saw residential shopping growth of this level, Pennsylvania has neared weekly residential electric shopping growth of 10,000 accounts, according to the latest stats from the PUC.
Specifically, from about September 18 to about September 25 (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw statewide residential electric migration increase by 8,650 accounts, up from growth of 6,500 in the immediately prior week and 2,300 two weeks ago.
Pennsylvania last saw weekly residential electric migration growth of 10,000 accounts in December 2012.
The significantly higher growth notably comes as Duquesne Light is still experiencing a loss of residential customers on competitive supply (though at a marginal level).
Specifically, from about September 18 to September 25, the weekly growth (loss) in residential electric customers on competitive supply at each EDC was:
Duquesne Light (97) Met-Ed 1,171 PECO 449 Penelec 1,565 Penn Power 515 PPL 2,652 West Penn Power 2,392
