Start-up Retail Supplier Led By Co-Creator of GDF Suez Retail Business Launches Service

A start-up retail supplier led by one of the creators of GDF Suez Resources has launched service.

Specifically, Switch Energy, LLC is now offering electric service in Ohio, at Duke Energy Ohio and Dayton Power & Light.

As listed on PUCO Apples to Apples, Switch Energy is offering residential customers at Duke Energy Ohio a monthly variable rate currently priced at 5.49 cents per kWh.

As listed on PUCO Apples to Apples, Switch Energy is offering residential customers at Dayton Power & Light a monthly variable rate currently priced at 5.99 cents per kWh.

Switch Energy indicates on its website an intent to expand to all deregulated markets, including in particular New York, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire.

As previously reported, the CEO of Switch Energy, LLC is Glenn Payne, who is a co-founder and indirect owner of the company. Payne previously held positions at GDF Suez North America where he co-created the retail electric business, GDF Suez Resources.

Rupesh Shah serves as executive vice president of Switch Energy, LLC. Shah was previously Head of Structuring (North America) for Noble Americas where he helped build out the North American Power and Gas business, and previously held business development, risk management, and credit capacity positions at Sempra Energy Trading

Dan Sullivan serves as Senior Vice President of Business Development at Switch Energy. Sullivan formerly held senior level positions in marketing at Direct Energy, Constellation, and GDF Suez.

Alla Guttsait oversees operations at Switch Energy. Guttsait previously held similar roles at Your Energy Holdings, LLC and Gateway Energy Services Corporation
