Public Service Company of New Hampshire is forecasting an increase in its energy service (default service) rate for the period starting January 1, 2014.

Specifically, for the period starting January 1, 2014, PSNH's preliminary calculation of a projected energy service rate, prior to the inclusion of the cost of the Merrimack Scrubber, is 7.98 cents per kWh.

When adding the bypassable 0.98 cents per kWh temporary Scrubber rate, the total projected PSNH energy service rate for 2014 is 8.96 cents per kWh.

The current total PSNH energy service rate is 8.62 cents per kWh.

The 8.96 cents per kWh forecast is a projection and not a formal request for a rate change. PSNH will formally file to modify the default service rate for 2014 in December, with updated data.

PSNH also reported that the level of migration to competitive supply assumed in its forecast is 52.0%, which represents the actual current migration level on PSNH's system as of August 31, 2013
